This is a beautiful pen. The glitter is well spaced and breathtaking in bright light. The fine nib is wet (my preference) and very smooth out of the box. I couldn’t be happier!
I ordered the Venus hair as it was an exclusive. Got hit hard with additional taxes because I live in Europe.
I ordered the Benu Talosman with a Schmidt fine nib. It did need some work as it was a bit on the dry side even with Diamine Oxblood in it. It wrote more like an Extra fine Schmidt nib. I have one to compare it to. After I got it to write wetter it is more like a fine now. It should come out of the box like that considering the price point, but it didn´t.
The pen comes with a sheet stating it is a an exclusive. It only states limited t o 300 on the website. Not on the sheet. I also couldn´t find a number print on the pen, which would have been nice for an exclusive to state the limited number somewhere.It felt less exclusive for me.
I do like the shape of it. The resin feels nice in its finish. Benu does state a lifetime warranty. Not sure if it applies to posting and possible scratches from posting. It does post, but is a bit wombly.
The pattern looks good but in some parts it is just blotches of glitter.
The cap comes off in 2 and a half turns, which is tolerable for me. We have more snap cap pens in Europe, which I prefer.The pen came with a cartridge and a converter.I use the converter and it does not leak. The clip works well and has a tiny indenture so that it won´t scratch the resin too much, which is nice.
I contacted Truphae after I placed my order and they happily answered my questions. Great customer care. It arrived without any damages and is packed very securely.
3 and a half stars for me. Rounded up to 4 for the nib I had to work on a little bit, blotchy glitter in some spots, not stating the number of the limited edition anywhere, other than the website and massive taxes for Europeans. For what I have paid in total I am not too far off their hand painted versions on the Benu website.I´ll keep it but wouldn´t buy it again in case it gets lost.
This pen is absolutely gorgeous and writes beautifully. I wasn't attracted to the Benu pens at first, I thought they were to sparkly. But when I saw this one I just fell in love with it and OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE it. It is so beautiful and writes incredibly well. I have it inked with Diamine Cocoa shimmer and it is a perfect match. I love the feel of the pen and it fits in my hand perfectly. I wish I could attach photos to this review!
