The Cross Century II Rollerball Pen in Red Marble brings a rich, patterned finish to one of Cross's signature designs. Deep red lacquer is traced with darker marbled markings, while polished gold-tone appointments frame the cap and barrel. The result is a distinctive writing instrument with the familiar elegance of the Century family.
Craftsmanship & Design
Century II develops the slim styling of the original Classic Century into a more substantial profile. Its tapered silhouette, conical cap top, and slender pocket clip retain the collection's recognizable character, while the broader proportions offer a balanced presence in the hand.
This example pairs its red marbled cap and barrel with gold-tone trim and a contrasting black, ribbed grip section. The patterned lacquer gives the pen visual depth, with darker lines flowing through the red surface.
Collector & Design Context
Finish variations are an important part of the appeal of Cross writing instruments. Red Marble offers a more expressive interpretation of the Century II's restrained shape, making it an appealing choice for a collection or everyday use. The accompanying photographs show the actual pen offered.
Writing Experience
A removable cap protects the rollerball point between uses. The ribbed grip provides a defined place to hold the pen, and the replaceable refill allows the instrument to remain in service as ink is used. The rollerball format suits signatures, correspondence, and daily notes.
Brand Heritage
Cross traces its history to 1846 and is known for writing instruments that combine practical mechanisms with enduring design. The Century II continues that tradition through a familiar silhouette adapted to a fuller profile.
