Diamine Oxblood fountain pen ink captures the depth of classic oxblood red with a refined, legible tone that suits journals, annotations, and correspondence. It offers rich saturation that reads professionally while bringing a warm character to the page.
Craftsmanship & Color
Oxblood is a deep red that leans toward burgundy, with subtle brown undertones that keep text grounded and readable. The dye-based, water-soluble formula lays down cleanly and can show attractive shading on quality paper without sacrificing line clarity.
Performance
Flow is smooth and consistent across a wide range of nibs, from everyday fines to broader stubs. As a water-based ink, it is not waterproof and will react to moisture, but it rinses easily from pens and converters during routine cleaning. Dry times and shading will vary with paper, nib, and writing pressure.

The ink itself is beautiful. It's a good, solid, dark red--slight hints of brown, slight hints of purple, but still very much red with excellent visibility. I am unsure as of yet regarding its colorfastness when exposed to light, which is often the downfall of red pigments. It seems to flow similarly to Levenger's ink, and doesn't bleed through with a fine Jinhau nib on cheap paper. My only complaint would be that the neck of the 30ml bottle is extremely narrow, so most fountain pens wouldn't be able to fit into the bottle for converter filling, especially not after the ink level starts to go down. I'll probably end up filing directly into the converter, foregoing the nib. For the price, and the quality, I think it's worth the extra hassle, but it would be nice if they made the neck even just a half centimeter broader.
Diamine Oxblood is one of my go to inks and one of my everyday carry pens is almost always inked up with it. A deep maroon red, it offers just a touch of shading and a fast drying time on almost all the papers I have used it with. I carry it to work with me because it’s different enough from a standard ballpoint ink that it stands out while still being considered a “formal” color.
