The Aurora Optima Italian Flag Series White Fountain Pen was created in 1997 for the bicentennial of the Italian tricolor. Aurora produced a three-color Optima series in green, white, and red, each representing one band of the national flag. Period examples are individually numbered within an edition of 1,997 pieces.
The familiar flat-ended Optima profile is rendered here in solid white resin with gold-plated trim, a commemorative cap band, an Italian-flag cap medallion, and a visible ink window. The pen was made in Italy and uses Aurora’s piston-filling system.
This listing is available with 18k gold Fine, Medium, Broad, or 1.3 mm Stub nibs. Aurora’s in-house gold nibs are known for a controlled, tactile writing feel and pair naturally with the Optima’s balanced proportions.
The 1997 Italian Flag series links one of Aurora’s signature modern designs to a specific moment in Italian national history. Complete three-color sets are especially recognizable, but each individual color was also sold separately.
These pens are in mint pre-owned condition and are offered without the original boxes or papers.

Free Shipping: We offer free shipping for all U.S. orders over $20, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Standard Shipping Fee: For U.S. orders below $20, a flat shipping fee of $5.99 will be applied.
International Orders:
Shipping Rates: International shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the package and the destination country.
Exclusions: Currently, we do not offer shipping to Russia and South Africa.
