I recently began writing with a fountain pen. I have purchased several pens and the LAMY quickly became my "go to" pen. It writes smoothly and the balance is incredible!
I really like Al Stars, this being my second. They're substantial enough, but not heavy (female, medium hands). The triangular grips are excellent. I prefer stubs, and Lamys are reliable, if not the most fantastic line variation. Changing nibs is easy. If you've contemplated getting an Al Star as a reliable EDC type of pen, at am affordable price point, give one a try.
