Outer bubble package insufficient to fully protect contents. Pen itself survived but the original Lamy packaging was crushed.
I was excited to try the Lamy Safari medium nib pen based on all the good reviews, but mine arrived very scratchy and when it did write, wrote more like a fine nib than a medium. I have spent some time adjusting the nib based on online instructions and recommendations and that has helped a little to smooth out the writing experience. But it still writes much finer than other medium pens I have and so far isn't as pleasant to write with as I was hoping. I might have to try a broad nib, but I hate paying another close to $20 just to try a nib that I'm not sure will be any better.

This is such a great pen! One of my favorites for daily writing. I got the broad nib and it writes as smooth as butter. It started writing as soon as I inked it up. Highly recommend!
