Craftsmanship & Design

Built through classical maki-e and raden techniques, Sparkle relies on the interplay of urushi depth and shell iridescence. Thin slivers of abalone are hand-cut and arranged across the lacquered surface; successive coats of urushi are then cured and polished to reveal color play ranging from cool violets to sea-green flashes.
