The Cross Century Classic Fountain Pen - Matte Grey brings the slim, recognizable Classic Century silhouette to fountain-pen writing in a restrained matte grey finish. The combination is understated and practical, preserving the collection's signature proportions while offering the more expressive ink flow of a fountain pen.
Craftsmanship & Design
Classic Century is one of Cross's defining designs, recognized for its slender profile, conical top, and clean, formal lines. The matte grey surface gives the familiar shape a quieter, more contemporary character while retaining the polished trim and disciplined geometry associated with the collection.
This example is presented conservatively from the available inventory information. The exact production year, country of manufacture, and nib alloy are not assigned here without supporting documentation.
Writing Experience
The pen is fitted with a Medium nib and uses Cross's cartridge/converter filling format, allowing either disposable ink cartridges or bottled ink with a compatible converter. The slim body makes the pen especially well suited to writers who prefer a lighter, more precise grip than the larger profiles common in modern fountain pens.
Brand Heritage
A.T. Cross traces its history to 1846 and has played a long role in American writing-instrument design. The Century family became one of the company's signature forms in the twentieth century, and its slim, tapered profile remains among the most recognizable Cross silhouettes.
