The Pelikan Souveran M815 Metal Striped Green Fountain Pen brings one of the brand’s most recognizable colors into the distinctive, weightier architecture of the M815 Metal Striped series. Introduced as a Special Edition following the Black and Metal Striped Blue versions, this release pairs deep green elements with polished metal stripes for a darker, more architectural interpretation of Pelikan’s classic striped design.
The green is especially appropriate here. Pelikan’s green-striped Model 400 debuted in 1950 and became one of the defining visual signatures of the company; the Souveran name followed decades later, and the larger M800 platform arrived in 1987. The M815 builds on that lineage while changing the physical character of the pen. Rather than relying on the lighter striped construction associated with many traditional Souveran models, the Metal Striped design incorporates metal into the barrel, giving the pen additional weight and a more substantial feel in the hand.
On the Metal Striped Green, polished metal stripes alternate against rich green elements to create a strong contrast that shifts with the light. Palladium-plated rings and Pelikan’s signature beak-shaped clip continue the cool-toned finish, while the familiar Souveran proportions keep the design unmistakably Pelikan. The result feels both traditional and contemporary: the green connects directly to the company’s heritage, while the metal construction gives the M815 a distinctly modern presence.
The fountain pen uses Pelikan’s piston-filling system and is fitted with a hand-finished 18-carat gold nib that is fully rhodium-coated for a uniform silver appearance. Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad nib widths are available, allowing the pen to be matched to a range of handwriting styles. The added mass of the metal barrel also distinguishes the writing experience from a standard resin-bodied Souveran, giving the M815 a planted, substantial character without abandoning the familiar M800-family format.
