The Pilot Parallel Fountain Pen - Red, 1.5mm is built around one of the most distinctive calligraphy nib designs in modern writing instruments. Instead of a conventional pointed nib, the Parallel uses two closely aligned metal plates to create crisp broad strokes, sharp hairlines, and clean transitions between thick and thin lettering.
The red-accented 1.5mm version is the narrowest Parallel in the current U.S. lineup, making it especially useful for compact lettering, practice alphabets, and controlled italic work.
Writing Experience
The steel 1.5mm italic nib is designed for smooth ink flow and precise edge control. Parallel inks can also be blended directly at the nib by briefly touching two inked Parallel pens together, allowing one color to transition into another as you write.
Each set includes the pen, one black and one red Pilot Parallel ink cartridge, a pipette for flushing, a nib cleaner, and an instruction booklet. The pen accepts proprietary Pilot cartridges and is compatible with a Pilot CON-40 converter for bottled ink use.
