The Visconti Homo Sapiens Fountain Pen - Carbon Rose is the third chapter in Visconti’s forged-carbon exploration, following Carbon Moiré and Carbon Abyssus. Here, the technical character of forged carbon is softened by warm rose-toned details, creating a limited edition that feels both engineered and refined.
Craftsmanship & Design
The body is formed from forged carbon, a composite of carbon-fiber fragments and resin that produces an organic, irregular pattern while remaining exceptionally light. For Carbon Rose, pink-anodized aluminum alloy leaf is incorporated directly into the composite, creating rosy veins that move through the dark carbon and shift in appearance as the light changes.
The metal fittings are crafted from Ergal, a high-strength aluminum alloy also used in aerospace applications. Their rose-gold anodized finish echoes the pink metallic veins within the body, creating a continuous visual language across the clip, bands, section, and trim.
Writing Experience
The fountain pen is fitted with Visconti’s 18k rose-gold nib and is available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, and 1.3mm Stub. The nib is paired with Visconti’s Double Reservoir Power Filler system, providing generous ink capacity and the controlled filling performance associated with the Homo Sapiens line.
A transparent central ink window remains visible even when the pen is capped, while the enhanced magnetic closure keeps operation quick and secure.
