Visconti Van Gogh Starry Night fountain pen ink interprets the deep blue tones of Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night as a rich, atmospheric writing color. The saturated blue brings a dramatic but highly usable character to notes, letters, and journals, echoing the dark, swirling sky that defines the painting.
Part of Visconti’s Van Gogh ink collection, Starry Night is created to complement the corresponding writing instruments while also serving as a versatile blue ink in its own right. The 30ml glass bottle features a durable bakelite cap, with sample sizes available for testing before committing to a full bottle.

Similar to Journalize’s ‘Starry Night’, but without the shimmer. Much, better behaved, too; Journalize’s ink bleeds and feathers , regardless of the paper quality, while Visconti’s ink is a bit of a dry writer, and stays exactly where it’s laid, even in a cheap notebook. With a wide enough nib, you may see some shading, but it’s largely just a deep blue somewhere on the spectrum between royal and navy. Conservative enough for work in a very conservative law office, but lovely enough to feed the soul.
Visconti starry night a dark Blue-Black ink, almost like the Cross Blue-Black ink. Upon drying, there is minimal sheen. I like it.
I wasn’t as happy with this ink as I wanted to be. It is very dark and I thought it had a sheen to it but coming out of the pen it was almost black. It would be fine for writing letters if you are looking for a dark ink.
